'I try to reveal the layers of stories, myths, magic and spirituality which fill our world, from images of animals which have always resonated with us, to powerful symbols of old religions. Working slowly and precisely with ink is collaborative, meditative time with my subjects and I often feel we develop a relationship, a deeper understanding. Few things in life compare to somebody recognising something in my work, it’s a moment of real kinship. Every sale is a part of me going out into the world, and that feels like old magic too.'
