"I remember a long time ago when I was doing my art foundation, I did a large painting for my coursework which was referenced from a photo. It was really then I knew I enjoyed painting. I remember thinking my tutor is going to love this, but no, she didn't! She stuck her nose up at it and said, "You can always tell when someone paints from a photo." After this, I never really painted and went on to do a Graphic Design Degree at Nottingham Trent University. When I started to paint again; after too long of working in the corporate business world, I was nervous, but I pushed past this and ironically now all my ideas come from manipulated images, which I then paint onto the canvas. It's most certainly me sticking my two fingers up to my art tutor!"
